“I heard such amazing things about this hotel and was very excited to stay here. The service was impeccable, they had so many beautiful fish on the property, and great pools. Thats about it. My room was so damp and humid that it took days for a bathing suit to dry and it smelt like ocean and not in a good way. The elevators must have been mopped with a dirty mop that it smelt like dead fish and I dreaded going in them. The restaurants were extremely overpriced with less than mediocre quality food. And my daughter wanted to go in the lazy River but is too tiny to sit in a tube alone and they refused to let me go with her so we didn’t get to go on any on the fun slides or water park attractions. I just wasn’t impressed at all. Oh and it’s a cashless hotel.. Since when is cash not an acceptable form of payment?!”

“I wish, I could give 5 reviews but I just can’t. The room was completely Muggy and bathroom rusty ( room (17-518). You can’t even open the balcony. The food was horrible and super expensive. The Poseidon is a breakfast buffet also expensive but enjoyable food. The private republic and seafire restaurant was extremely horrible and expensive. There’s no food after 10pm. They have a bar which sell plain salad for $27.88. also, everything outside closes at 5pm. Room service closer at 10pm to reheat is $18. Outside the hotel everyone recommended Fried fish restaurant but it’s not a restaurant it’s a food market. The royal hotel is a cashless hotel. Don’t bring cash unless u want to tip. For the amount you pay to go to the royal, the only thing worth going is the water park. We stay from Feb 24-27 2022”

Has been said already before and I can echo these things.
The food is in general mediocre quality for absolutely hideous prices- calculate for a family of three at least 3-400$ per day extra. And this is if you watch your money and spend it mostly on fast food/ packaged food from the store or snack bars. Also add to every bill 10% VAT and 15% service charge
Nothing is for free- forget what you’re used to from European or Asian resorts, even kids club costs 60$ for half a day. Spa or other activities are just ridiculous expensive. On the upside- the pool landscape is amazing and included in the price.
Considering that you pay nearly $1000 a day the rooms are not good value for money, I spend in average north of 70 nights a year in Marriott’s and the rooms are on the level of a standard airport hotel- just more outdated (Royal Tower East). In general the hotel is in dire need of renovation or refurbishment.
All in all this entire place feels like a gigantic tourist trap with every intersection designed to rip you off
Completely overpriced to a level that it’s obscene if you compare price to the actual quality you receive when it comes to food and facilities
Outdated
So crowded that during peak times it feels like Vegas on its worst days
Unfriendly staff
Positive is landscaping and the island itself.
I really recommend to stay away and boom for the money you’d spend here some five star resort on the Maldives, Dubai or anywhere else. I’ve never received less value for my money

A great resort with really nice rooms, great views, with friendly staff. A lot to do and close to downtown. A decent amount of eateries but could have more. The crowds were manageable such that it didn't feel crowded. Overall the place was well maintained though the place could use some refurbishment. A lot of the exhibits could use a bit of cleaning, build up of algae and grime. The public restrooms also could use a bit of an update. All in all a great experience and definitely recommend a visit.

Well, I love the hotel and resort. I'd never leave if I could. So many small touches, like wonderful showers and peepholes for kids on the doors, along with super quiet rooms. You could just stay here and exercise all day on what seem to be miles of tree-lined paths. It just spectacular.
But they drop the ball on a few important things. And I will just say these are small gripes but definitely bothered me. For example, it sounds like a construction zone here with all the leaf blowers and actual construction going on. Mostly the leaf blowers which are loud and have been blowing nonstop for the last 2 hours. Can't enjoy the peaceful morning air. The other two biggest issues were the caved-in mattress and cheap coffee maker which was impossible to not make a mess.
Edit: +2 stars because they did offer to change my room to accommodate the issues I was having. I appreciate the care and attention even if I wasn't interested in repacking.

The place itself will give you a big “wow” inside, but besides all the activities and places to visit in Paradise Island you will be disappointed in the end. The food is highly overpriced and has not enough quality for that, in my opinion. The staff was not friendly most of the times. The checkin experience was tedious and not welcoming at all. Some details are not well maintained, such as the elevators, balconies. The room at The Royal towers itself would be quite nice for a 100-200 a night, not for the price you pay in Atlantis (overpriced). Overall, if you want to just spend thousands go to Atlantis. If you prefer to value your money, go somewhere else. (PS: the final invoice will be hard for you to understand, with all the gratuities, fees, and other added on top. I paid 1.5 times what I received in the reservation.)

3 stars in disguise. As a Marriott platinum member I spent an average of 60 nights a year in Marriott’s resort worldwide and I have never seen such a low value for your money. The hotel is low maintenance, food is junk food style, obviously over priced, and service is a disgrace.
Don’t waste your money here it isn’t worth 10% of their rates.
I have never been so much disappointed from a resort before.

Amazing resort with great aquapark and marine habitat. If you are a family with young kids, this is the number one choice! There is so much to do! Food can be expensive! The beaches are beautiful with crystal clear turquoise water!

Royal at Atlantis - Service is top-notch, so many things to do and see at the resort. The slides are so fun and unique, restaurants are great, the casino is a lot of fun, but emphasis on service makes this the best place to visit for vacation. This was our first time to the Bahamas and everyone is so authentic and nice. Great country, great resort, we’ll be back for sure!

I've been to Atlantis 4 times and stayed in the Royal and Reef resorts. I found the rooms in Royal to be dated but minimally maintained. The rooms at the Reef are better but also suffer from minimal maintenance.
I really like how close you are to pools, slides, beaches and activities. Also lots to do within a 10 min ride like Nassau center, boating, museums and restaurants (try the Fish Fry).
I did not like the view from our 3rd floor room at Royal, it was over the driveway area and there are huge walls (~4ft tall) that prevent you from seeing anything. They were doing construction on the 4th floor everyday starting at 7am. Apparently there is a large upgrade project currently going on in the Royal.

This place really resembles the city of Atlantis. It's a huge hotel with very nice pools and beachfront! water park and aquariums are exceptional at this hotel! Dolphin Cay is must if you're visiting with your kids! Casino is pretty big as well.

This place is unbelievably overpriced. Be prepared to spend a min of $1000/week on food alone .
Staff are untrustworthy. Had our iPad stolen right off of us and the hotel management could care less!
There is nothing to do there. The pools and beaches close around 5:00.
The rooms do not have balconies as described - it’s literally a tiny little opening.
No microwave, no freezer only a ridiculously small fridge in a drawer.
Honestly, we are a pretty easy going family and not extremely picky when we are on vacation - but this trip here was beyond disappointing.
If I could rate this hotel 0 - I totally would. Save your money and go elsewhere. Don’t bother with the Royal.

Enjoyed time with family here. The Atlantis is a very beautiful hotel! It was so fun watching our grandchildren have fun in the water park. We also put on wet suits and entered the water for experiences with a dolphin and also a sea lion. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary. We were married here 23 years ago.
The underground aquarium is awesome! The restaurants were fabulous! There are many choices. The breakfasts were free for two adults in each room.
The Bahamas is very diligent with handling the Covid issues. We had to be tested the day before and fill out health visas before entering. Then you need to test again before leaving. There are fines if not wearing a mask and in some instances you could be jailed for not complying.
We so enjoyed out trip here!

I really wanted this to be the best vacation ever. But truth be told it just was not. It takes hours to check in and check out. Upon arrival at the front desk they literally told us nothing about the resort or how the credits work (daily/use them or lose them) if you are lucky enough to have any. Just “here’s your key”. The first room that they put us in smelled badly of wet dog and mildew and had mold in places along with wet carpet. Half/ unfinished drywall patches and unpainted sections. The entire resort is just outdated and doesn’t really include any of the smart TV options. The worst part is the staff wanting to make you think there are no other food options other then the food and no other transportation then the taxi. Not to mention that this place has the most overpriced food on the entire planet including Disney World. Wanting 40$ a plate for breakfast buffet that Bob Evans puts to shame. This resort also comes with a hazardous rapid river that will eat the skin off of any part that should happen to touch the bottom or the walls. Although the resort is beautiful, that is it. Your money can be better spent at an all inclusive resort that won’t try to bleed you dry. All of the real excursions are outside of Atlantis so you won’t miss much.

Our stay at the Royal was nothing short of amazing. The resort is absolutely beautiful. The people were amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer! We hosted a girls trip and stayed in the 2 bedroom Royal Suite! Had an absolute ball!

The Atlantis is a great place to stay or visit. The aquarium(s) are spectacular... all kinds of fish, including sharks and rays. The shopping is quite expansive. There are many excellent restaurants and bars within the Atlantis complex. The Atlantis Waterpark is incredible! They have an awesome water slide that's long and tall. The Atlantis is a great place for families with young kids or no kids. Highly recommended!

Everyone is very helpful and cheerful. The happiest place. My only recommendation is a little more for the handicapped. No bars in bath tubs, an elevator that doesn't work or others are too small, and doors at don't open automatically or have someone near to help.

We stayed at the Royal Atlantis. It was a nice stay. I enjoyed our view of the marina from the 23rd floor. Everything we could have needed was on sight. This hotel is huge. It's 4 separate hotels that are all linked together. We stayed 5 nights and we still left without doing things. The rooms were comfortable and a nice size. They were updated. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom didn't appear to be cleaned the first day we arrived, I clean all of them myself upon arrival so it wasn't a truly bad thing I saw hair around the tub. This hotel is not in the city center or on the main island you have to go over a high bridge to get on the island. The cost varies and there is a toll the taxis have you pay on top of the fee for the ride. The beach was beautiful with chairs with umbrellas waiting on your arrival. The best place I found for breakfast was Poseidon's Table which is buffet style but definitely worth the $30 price tag. The entire resort is cashless so you use your room key to make purchases. Keep in mind that the rides are for children 48" and taller I wasn't aware of that, this is a strict rule.
